Parkour
2008

An extension of the ubiquitous presence of youth in my work, the Parkour series came from my intrigue around the ‘things boys do”.

My work has always depicted my own children and others. While my pirate and playground series’ allude to the imaginary and distant worlds belonging to children, the Parkour series illuminates the more real engagement of bodies in space. These drawings show the physical relationship between young boys and architectural elements, and their attraction to ‘risk taking’.

Materials: Charcoal, white charcoal, gesso.
